Weddings

August3

Well it looks like today is the last preparation day before our last large wedding of the season!  We do have a few smaller weddings happening as summer comes to a close, but when I say small I mean less than 12 people, nothing on this scale to say the least.

So far everything looks like it is going well and is well planned.  The ceremony is scheduled for 12:30 which is pretty early for us, so I hope they have enough time in the morning to finish decorations, etc before the ceremony as well a photos, hair appointments, etc.  It will be a tight squeeze for time that is for sure.  It also means an early morning for us as breakfast is pushed up so the caterer can get here by 10am and we can have breakfast done and over with, the dining room cleared out, the kitchen counters all cleared, and the linens all put on the tables outside as well as the chairs for the head table.  So much to do that early in the morning!  Well it is for me anyhow.

Usually we have breakfast for our wedding couples at 9am the first day and later on the 2nd day so everyone can sleep in and recuperate, but I think this wedding will be done by 4pm with all the guests gone and I think we might only have 2 rooms tomorrow night from the wedding because of it, which is fine, but not even the bride and groom are staying with us!  It should seem like a short day, at least that is what I keep telling myself.  Maybe we can go for a paddle tomorrow evening.  It is great that it stays so light out during the summer, you can paddle later when we can fit it in!

Oh and a follow-up on the other guests, we didn’t hear back from her, and haven’t been able to get in touch with her, so I hope she is doing ok!  I don’t know what I would do if I was stuck in another city with no ID and no way to get ANYWHERE.  Can’t rent a car, can’t get a hotel room, can’t fly home.  My only thought was that I hoped she had someone at home who could mail her a passport to use as ID until she could get home to replace her ID, let alone the credit cards.  What a nightmare.
