Casey’s view of the world

Rough Night

September13

Poor little girl, Lauren had some terrible gas last night.  I’m not sure what it was I had to eat, but she was in some pain with those gas bubbles.  I went to feed her and put her down around 10pm last night and I finally made it to bed at 2am and then she was awake again at 2:30 and finally back down at 5:30 and she was up again at 6am.  I was massaging her little tummy just hearing it rumble and out would come a fart, and ahhhhh she would instantly fall asleep, only to wake up about 5 minutes later with another round.  Today she seems to be doing better, still has some gas bubbles in there, but they must not be as painful because she has been sleeping.

Monday is her 2-week checkup with Dr Beth, we’ll see what she recommends, I felt so bad that I couldn’t do more for her other than rub her tummy and hold her legs scrunched up like a frog to get the bubbles out.

We have been using our slings quite a bit and she really enjoys those, and it keeps her with the family as we do stuff during the day, plus it frees up you hands so you an do stuff, you just have to remember she is hanging there so you don’t bump her into stuff, it’s like being pregnant again and having to watch out for your stomach!

All in all Lauren is doing really well, changing all the time, her little hands and feet have filled out and her cheeks are looking chubbier.  Her hair is still fairly dark and growing, it now stands on end if you brush it the wrong way which before it was more like fuzz.  Her eyes are looking very very blue, but we’ll just have to wait and see what color they decide on staying, some days I think they look a little green, other days they are very blue.
