Official 6th Month Measurements
Lauren’s six month appointment was today. She is doing very well and Dr Beth is very impressed. Healthy as anything and is the size of an average nine month old. Which make sense. The 3 – 6 month clothes (Australian size 000) are too small, the 6 – 9 month (size 00) clothes fit fairly well but the pants are a little short, and the 9 – 12 month (size 0) clothes are a little big. Doctor wouldn’t be surprised if the top two teeth come through in the next week, they are right there, but they have looked like that for a few weeks so we’ll see. She was surprised that she wasn’t crawling, but as she gets around so well by rolling she said that might be why. Why learn to crawl when a good roll will do? She is a healthy eater, loves her veggies. Dr Beth gave us the go ahead to start introducing some grains, but to try and limit wheat, and to hold off still on dairy, eggs and seafood. Probably in the next month we will be moving to two meals a day, but she has been doing pretty well on just one so far with the breastfeeding. Dr Beth also said that giving her some rice or noodles or small vegetables so she could feed herself was ok. The other day I gave her a large chunk of onion and she had a grand ol time sucking on it. Her eyes were watering and she was sniffing, but she had a huge smile on her face as she sucked on that onion.
