Cold snap, heating update.
Our heaters have arrived. No thanks to Home Depot. Their shipping says 3 – 5 business days. Yes that is true, 3 – 5 business days after they get around to shipping it, which took about 3 days. We set them up and set the thermostats on them to 65. They work wonderfully. Very quiet. The common areas of the Inn are now nice and comfortable, the gas fireplace is off more than it is on, and when it is on it is on low. Our area is staying nice and warm (68) with our two eco heaters, even when the temperatures outside are in the 20s!
The furnace salesman called to check up on us to see what we decided and I told him that we decided to save our money and not buy a furnace we didn't want. He made a comment along the lines of limping through a long winter in a cold house, and I told him that our house was not cold by any stretch it was a nice comfortable 72 (at the time it was). He just said, oh. We'll see what the utility bill says when it comes. I wonder what the changes will be. Consumption up down or consistent?
